Ic1396_optolong-L-enhance-6hr_20.09.2020 My last big project this summer was imaging Elephant's Trunk Nebula and Veil Nebula, using Optolong L enhance filter.I spent several nights imaging this two beautiful nebulas. The Elephant's Trunk Nebula is a concentration of interstellar gas and dust within the much larger ionized gas region IC 1396 located in the constellation Cepheus about 2,400 light years away from Earth. Image settings: Total exposure 6 hours Light frames: 91x240 sec iso 800 Dark Frames : 64 Bias Frames; 150 Stacked in Dss Edited in Adobe camera Raw and Photoshop Equipment: Nikon D7200 Skywatcher Ed80/600 EQM35-Pro GOTO Mount Reducer/corrector 0.85x from Skywatcher Filter: Optolong L enhance 2'' Autoguider: guidescope 53 mm Autoguider camera: ZWO ASI120MM-S Omegon USB Dew Heater Power Generator 40.000Mah Laptop Lenovo Yoga 3

The shape of the nebula resembles that of the continent of North America, complete with a prominent Gulf of Mexico. The portion of the nebula resembling Mexico and Central America is known as the Cygnus Wall. This region exhibits the most concentrated star formation. The North America Nebula and the nearby Pelican Nebula (IC 5070) are parts of the same interstellar cloud of ionized hydrogen (H II region). The Pelican Nebula (also known as IC 5070 and IC 5067) is an H II region associated with the North America Nebula in the constellation Cygnus

Ngc-6960-Veil_-4hr30_20.09.2020. I tested Optolong L-Enhance Filter on NGC 6960 - Western Veil Nebula. NGC 6960 is part of the supernova remnant located in the constellation Cygnus. It is a cloud of heated and ionized gas and dust, that contains oxygen, sulfur, and hydrogen.
